    Large, antique, stoneware pitcher
    with a 2 1/2 quart capacity. It was
    originally used on a farm in
    Wyoming.
    The Monmouth Pottery Company
    began in 1894 in Monmouth,
    Iinois, by William Hanna and
    associates to make use of the
    vast deposits of stoneware clays in that area. They produced useful
    items favor butter churns, crocks
    jars, and pitchers. Monmouth
    claimed it was the largest pottery
    in the world in 1898. They were
    one of the seven Midwestern
    companies that joined together to
    form the Western Stoneware
    Company in 1906. See photos
